The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the online application form for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. This examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who wish to become teachers in government and government-aided schools across Jharkhand. Candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 5 or classes 6 to 8 must qualify this examination.
The application process will be conducted in online mode and interested candidates can fill out the form through the official website. Applicants are advised to read the official notification carefully before applying so that they understand the eligibility criteria, exam pattern and other important details. After qualifying this examination, candidates receive a Teacher Eligibility Certificate which is required while applying for various teacher recruitment posts in the state. Eligibility Criteria / पात्रता
Candidates who want to appear in the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test must fulfill the educational qualifications prescribed by the authorities. For Paper I (Primary Teacher), candidates should have passed 10+2 with at least 50 percent marks along with Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). For Paper II (Upper Primary Teacher), candidates should possess a graduation degree along with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Candidates must carefully check the official notification for detailed eligibility conditions before submitting the application form.
JHTET परीक्षा के लिए उम्मीदवारों के पास आवश्यक शैक्षणिक योग्यता होनी चाहिए। सामान्यतः प्राथमिक शिक्षक के लिए D.El.Ed और उच्च प्राथमिक शिक्षक के लिए B.Ed या समकक्ष योग्यता आवश्यक होती है।
📍 Primary Level (Class 1-5)
- Option 1: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with 50% marks & passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed).
- Option 2: 10+2 Intermediate with 45% marks & passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma (B.T.C./D.El.Ed) as per NCTE 2002 Regulations.
- Option 3: 10+2 Intermediate with 50% marks & passed/appearing in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Option 4: 10+2 Intermediate with 50% marks & passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Option 5: Bachelor Degree with passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed).

📍 Junior Level (Class 6-8)
- Option 1: Bachelor Degree & passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed).
- Option 2: Bachelor Degree with 50% marks & passed/appearing in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri).
- Option 3: Bachelor Degree with 45% marks & passed/appearing in B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri as per NCTE Regulations.
- Option 4: 10+2 Intermediate with 50% marks & passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Option 5: 10+2 Intermediate with 50% marks & passed/appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Option 6: Bachelor Degree with 50% marks & passed/appearing in B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Option 7: Master Degree with 55% marks & 3-year Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed Course.
